Watch: Young Echo – Jupiter Rise
Bristol’s emerging producer collective, Young Echo, has finally descended from their solitary projects to form somewhat of a super group.
Comprised of producers El-Kid, Vessel, Kahn, Zhou, Jabu, Ishan Sound, Killing Sound, Gorgon Sound, REI and Baba Yaga, and spanning the bass music spectrum in their styles, ranging from grime and dubstep, to house and whatever genre you choose to define Tri Angle Records releases as. This will be the group’s first collaborative effort which, if our speculation is correct, melds all those individual efforts together into one dark and exploratory project we can’t wait to dig into.
The first single off Young Echo’s debut, ‘Jupiter Rise’ is a sexy slip through time and space, submerged in a capsule of lushly hoarse words and prismatic clicks, that floats through short-winded elations in the form of billowing synth and sparse hollow beats. Watch the accompanying video for the track above.
Young Echo’s debut album, Nexus, is out 27 May on Ramp Recordings. Be sure to be on the lookout for another single, ‘Blood Sugar’, dropping at the end of April.
