It’s still so ridiculously early in 2013 to even contemplate such a thing, but with ‘Move’, Mausi may have just unleashed a song so unashamedly joyous and full of fun, that only Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’ from last year could rival in the Most Addictive Pop Song Of The Past Twelve Months stakes.
Sounding like the bastard love-child of Alphabeat and Passion Pit, Newcastle based quartet Mausi epitomise the very essence of a ‘pop hit’ with their latest single. Its very essence so completely adorable that, if it were a tactile object, you’d wrap yourself up in it for all eternity – the musical equivalent of a really expensive Slanket.
It’s so refreshing to see a young group such as this so completely caught up in their own world yet free of any faux hipster credentials. Mausi embrace the good things in life and it shows in their music which is – if you haven’t already guessed – pure, unadulterated pop at its finest. A little bit of summer sunshine to brighten up the doom and gloom of the winter months. God bless ‘em.
We’re delighted to present the first look at the official video for ‘Move’ which sees Mausi having a reet good time, out on the town with their mates.
‘Move’ is available now via Loose Lips Records.
