Watch: Kevin Sinatra – Perseverance (feat. Kendall Elijah)

Virginian rapper Kevin Sinatra has dropped an ultra-DIY promo clip for new track ‘Perseverance’. Jared Soule’s spartan visuals paint a picture of withdrawal and loneliness, contrasting with Sinatra’s portentous declarations of revolution and the return of ‘the Black Kings’.

Featuring a muscular guest contribution from fellow VA artist Kendall Elijah over brooding beats and wraithlike vocal samples; the whole piece transmits anxious vibes, an almost palpable tension simmering away under their stoic facades. Sinatra is preparing a to release a full length Black America in the winter, ‘Perseverance’ is the first omen, underestimate him at your peril.
