Brixton R&B sensation Joel Compass releases his debut EP in June via electro-soul indie label du jour Black Butter. The teenage talent possesses the most extravagant, hair-raising falsetto we’ve heard this year; milking his exquisite vocal chords for all their worth on the EP’s lustfully longing first cut, ‘Back To Me’.
Today Compass unveiled the Sin City-style film noir accompanying video; and it makes for tremendously grisly, utterly compulsive viewing. Composed of chopped together stills, it documents a father/son heist gone wrong and culminates in a bullet wound being extracted by a witch doctor’s pet snake. You don’t get this kind of exotic treatment on the NHS, that’s for sure.
