As futuristic as the sound they are championing, CHRVCHES unveil the new video for their latest single. The Glasgow trio enjoyed a ‘BBC Sound Of’ shortlisting and are tipped by many to have an extremely successful year in the ever-expanding world of electro-pop.
Matching the bouncing synths and industrial rhythms, the video journeys through a dark space-age world, discovering glimpses of the band themselves on a crackling screen in an apt church-like building. The trip comes to an end with a neat V-shaped logo echoing the intentional misspelling in their name. Fly to far away galaxy with ‘Recover’.
To coincide this release, CHVRCHES have added orchestra hits, their deep pads and vocal fiddles to St. Lucia’s ‘Before The Dive’. The ecstatic combination drives along from the punching, disconnected opening to a silky chorus and into a wash of warm layers and heart-beating bass drum. They’ve added hints of relaxed darkness to the New Yorker’s otherwise summer-fueled song and their ability to rework so proficiently displays another string to their very exciting bow.
