Lifted from last year’s The Carpenter LP, the Avett Brothers return today with this jaunty clip for the ridiculously chipper ‘I Never Knew You’.
With their roots firmly placed in trad-country and bluegrass, the Avett Brothers take things up a notch here with one of their most outwardly commercial moments to date. With melodic nods to Ben Folds, close-part harmonies reminiscent of The Beatles and the cheekiness of classic Fountains Of Wayne; ‘I Never Knew You’ is a certified ear worm if ever we heard one.
