Watch: Valgeir Sigurðsson – Between Monuments [Best Fit Premiere]
Valgeir Sigurðsson’s impressive CV has seen him spread his talents as composer, musician, engineer and mixer far and wide.
As founder of the Bedroom Community record label, his roster has included the likes of Nico Muhly, Sam Amidon and Ben Frost. Iceland’s top recording facility Greenhouse Studios is another of his interests and one that’s brought him work with Feist, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, CocoRosie and múm. He was the engineer and programmer for Lars Von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark soundtrack, at Björk’s request and has continued to work with her across numerous studio albums.
On top of all that Sigurðsson has found time to put out his own unique compositions, generating soundscapes that mix the tumultous, affecting and serene. 2012′s Architecture of Loss followed a year which saw him named as one of the top ten composers in the world under 40 by NPR.
