Night Works – The Eveningtime [Best Fit Premiere]
If nothing else, Gabriel Stebbing – otherwise known as Night Works – seems to have inherited from his time as once-bassist of Metronomy the effortless and seemingly ever so simple yet all the while inexplicably effective knack for creating infectious pop grooves. The kind of songs that don’t necessarily hit you on the first five seconds of listen time, but settle themselves firmly under your skin by the end of the first play count.
That’s not a bad thing to be handed down, right? We can think of far worse, like your older brother’s cast-off jumpers or your dad’s complete inability to grow any kind of pre-pubescent facial hair.
‘The Eveningtime’ is the second number to drop from the man, following on from the similarly alluring ‘I Tried So Hard’. It was produced by none other than Joseph Mount of Metronomy and will be released 6 August on Loose Lips Records.
Night Works will throw a very special launch party to celebrate the release on 12 July at Apartment 58 in Soho.
