Watch William Tyler in session
You’ll hear William Tyler’s guitar work on some of the best Americana records of the last ten years.
Lambchop, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Silver Jews, have all benefitted from his musicianship and this year saw him branch out further with solo long-player – his second - Impossible Truth.
The record’s romanticised vision of a post-Carter era USA conveyed through Tyler’s incredible guitar work gave us one of this year’s most impressive releases – as well as propelling him right to the top of our sessions schedule. ’Cadillac Desert’ was the first track to drop from Impossible Truth and shows Tyler’s fingerpicking abilities at their finest; watch above.
Impossible Truth is out now via Merge Records. William Tyler will play St Pancras Old Church in London on September 2.
