Offering up one of the more sublimely wonderful records of 2011 (which placed inside the top ten albums in our end of year list), Wisconsin duo Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis make a sound that’s as playful and lulling as it is enthralling. Peaking Lights occupy a space somewhere between psychedelia and dub with a krautrocky hat on and we’ve been vibing heavily off debut 936 for months now.
We met up with Aaron and Indra ahead of their show at Rhythm Factory just before Xmas and filmed an amazing take of ‘Marshmellow Yellow’ between soundcheck and doors opening. It’s a trippy, lush cut and one of our favourite sessions to date.
