Watch: Kathleen Edwards – Sidecar (Best Fit Session)
When it comes to sharing our fondness for Canadian songstress Kathleen Edwards and the batch of songs that make up the sublime new album Voyageur (due out January next year) we’ve hardly been reserved. Having crafted one of the standout Americana albums of the past few years, it was only a matter of time before we encroached her into doing a Best Fit Session.
Performing against the banks of the Thames in West London’s Hammersmith in ridiculously windy conditions, Edwards performs a sterling rendition of former Song Of The Day ‘Sidecar’. Flanked by two back up guitarists, Kathleen croons over the simple yet ridiculously endearing lyrics – the song (according – to Edwards- about the joys of really really good sex) shining – like the winter sun that basques down onto the trio – gloriously as one of the finest of the year.
