Watch: Baby Dee – A Morning Holds A Star (Best Fit Session)
Best Fit Sessions caught up with Baby Dee at the Queen Elizabeth Hall London last week ahead of her two day Cafe Oto residency this weekend. Friday night sees Dee joined by fellow Tin Angel Recordings Alumnus Paul Curreri, Jordan Hunt, Olivia Chaney and Laura Moody who will all play one of Dee’s songs to open the show, while Saturday sees her joined by Marc Almond, David Tibet, Elysian Quartet and the Dead Rat Orchestra. Support for both shows comes from Doug Tielli, who also makes up part of Dee’s band (that’s him playing the trombone on the session).
Part of the beauty of Dee’s live show is that it never feels like the same show twice – Dee’s ability to go from the theatrical and exhuberant to the minimal and serene with ease. Her songs and performances, like Dee herself, are unique and beguiling, as you can see for yourself on this stunning rendition of ‘A Morning Holds A Star’, performed exclusively for The Line Of best Fit.
