Easing us into the new year with a dark and brooding performance against a bearly lit stairwell inside London’s Scala is Norwegian songstress Ane Brun.
One of the many highlights from Brun’s current album It All Starts With One, ‘Words’ sees Ane stripped of any backing – leaving her fragile and torturous voice laid naked against a simple acoustic backing: the sound of passing traffic rumbles sporadically adding an almost accidental percussive element to this sincere ballad.
