Watch Sumie perform 'Hunting Sky' at Iceland Airwaves

The debut record from Sumie sees the confirmation of a most understated and genuine songwriting talent.
Entirely self-taught, the Gothenberg-born musician began recording her compositions after becoming a mother in 2008 and found her delivery shaped by the need to perform at a tolerable level around her children. There’s also more than a delicate touch to the songs that make up her self-titled album, released this month via Bella Union, that’s in keeping with a Scandinavian background.
We met Sumie at this year’s Iceland Airwaves by Reykjavik’s central pond, Tjörnin, for a performance of “Hunting Sky”, which you can watch above.
