We first met Frenchman Yann Tambour in Brighton as he was travelling around in a van doubling up as accommodation.
Pursuing his nomadic streak, Tambour recently released Luxe as Stranded Horse, an album bustling with world influences and collaborators.
A literal craftsman, the Frenchman has been making his own versions of koras, the 21-string West African lute-bridge-harps, for years. His latest creation - dubbed Formikora, made with formica - sees him accompanied by Boubacar Cissokho and Miguel Bahamondes-Rojas on a cover of Joy Division's "Transmission".
Stranded Horse plays Bristol on 2 May, and London on 6 May - full dates on his website. Luxe is out now via Talitres.
