Watch Sam Amidon perform 'As I Roved Out' for Best Fit
Vermont-born Sam Amidon was steeped in folk traditions from his earliest days as the son of notable musicians and educators in early American music.
Now based in London, Bright Sunny South is Amidon’s first record for Warner imprint Nonesuch – his sixth solo release – and finds him dabbling further in compelling expressions that draw jazz and folk influences together to an entirely unique place.
Watch Amidon’s haunting performance for Best Fit, with a take on a track from the new record. ‘As I Roved Out’ revisits an Irish standard and Amidon quickly makes the song his own.
Bright Sunny South is out now and Amidon plays four dates in the UK this week:

23 – London Bush Hall
