Watch Rachel Zeffira from Cat's Eyes perform 'Silver City Days' for Best Fit
The musical partnership of Faris Badwan and Rachel Zeffira on the Cat’s Eyes project saw the pair defy expectations to produce one of 2011′s most thrilling listens. As the unknown factor in that equation, Zeffira had much to prove and this autumn will release her debut The Deserters on the label she and Badwan have formed. Self-produced and, she says, inspired by the arrangements of Nick Drake songs, the first sonic fruits of the record promise something quite different from her other band.
Born in Canada, the trained soprano, composer, and multi-instrumentalist is now based in the UK but we went up to Peter Gabriel’s Real World studios near Bath to capture her for a quite gorgeous Best Fit Session.
