On a short but sweet visit to London, we caught up with Emil Svanängen – the man behind the grandiose pop stylings of Loney Dear. Armed with an array of loop pedals, triggers and effects – Svanängen treated us to a glorious rendition of recent single ‘My Heart’ on a hot and humid afternoon in Kings Cross. Like a mad professor, Emil builds the song bit-by-bit – adding multiple guitar phrases, handclaps and melodies to form a mini orchestra; driving the song to a heartbreaking crescendo and leaving everyone present utterly speechless.
Hall Music, Loney Dear’s sixth studio album is out now via Something In Construction.
