Watch Lawrence Arabia play a forest session for Best Fit
The first time we listened to The Sparrow, Lawrence Arabia’s third album from July of this year, we were entirely thrown.
Expecting a natural evolution from 2009′s Chant Darling – with its blustery pop sheen and Chilton-esque choruses – we weren’t prepared for a collection of songs that evoke so magically a space between the pastoral and the psychedelic, recalling in parts the moment Scott Walker threw caution to the wind (also known as Scott 4) back in the late sixties.
James Milne’s musical vision – ever changing and taking massive leaps and bounds with every release – is one that continues to engage us and it was a moment of joy to grab him for an hour at September’s End of the Road Festival and drag him into the forest for a Best Fit Session.
