L.A.FOSTER performs "Coulda Been 2" for The Line of Best Fit
"This is a breakup song for sure but not a romantic one," says Canada's L.A.Foster says about the track she peformed for Best Fit's cameras recently - "...a friendship of what coulda been. A working relationship that fell apart. It was cathartic as I was upset and hurt and felt sad."
"It’s a release and now when I sing it, it takes on different meanings and adapts to new situations of loss or hurt. That's whats great about ‘Coulda Been 2’ - there are so many things that "coulda been" and we can all relate to that feeling of "almost was… but damn, it just ain't".
Edmonton-born singer-songwriter L.A.Foster was one of the highlights of this year's Great Escape Festival. Foster worked for a decade in music before finally releasing music under own name late in 2015. She lived in Buenos Aires for a time and immersing herself in the South American music and art scene was pivotal to the sound of her debut EP. Saudade saw her collaborate with the likes of Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy, who handled production. “We both make sad dance music, kind of, so it was a perfect fit," Foster says of their collaboration.
