London-based eight-piece Ibibio Sound Machine mine a glorious pit of of African highlife and gospel tinged with psychedelia and Afro-Beat.
The Soundway-signed outfit - fronted by British/Nigerian Eno Williams - are a rarity in 2014, picking up strands of the past and adding innovative and assuredly British touches. We met up with them for a session take on “I’m Running - Nya Fehe” from their self-titled debut released earlier this year.
Catch them live when they hit London’s Village Underground on 27 October 2014.
