Watch a bewitching session from Scandi folkpop sensation Farao

Under the pseudonym of Farao, London-based and Norwegian singer-songwriter Kari Jahnsen makes music shot through with a touch of sun-kissed Laurel Canyon and the kind of assertive percussive that we come to expect from the fellows Nordic talent like Oh Land or even Wildbirds & Peacedrums.

We premiered her debut track Forces on the site back in January and met up with her a few weeks back for a performance of his first single, ‘Skin’, which gets a digital-only release on 27 May. Watch the session above.

You can catch Farao tomorrow night (11 April) at St Pancras Old Church in London. Thereafter, she embarks on various dates in Europe and the UK throughout the spring. Full dates below.
