Watch Drag City signee Circuit des Yeux in session
Chicago-based Circuit des Yeux released Reaching For Indigo last year, her first record on cult label Drag City.
Catching Haley Fohr before her show in Paris, we found a bridge near the venue where she played "Brainshift" for us, using the sound of a passing boat as a fitting intro.
The stripped down session sees Fohr recite the melancholic "Brainshift" without any electronic aid, and instead pursues the slow burner with an acoustic guitar to hand.
The simple string plucking emphasises the raw tone of the vocals, swirling and breaking beautifully as the track drops into a melodic climax just after three minutes.
Fohr showcases her impeccable ability to translate her electronic infused sounds to a more simple, yet emotional performance, as she reworks "Brainshift" beautifully.
