SELL EVERYTHING dabble in grungy guitar on cross-genre track “Something New”
In their new track “Something New”, Dublin-based SELL EVERYTHING is yet again serving listeners a little bit of everything across the soundboard.
Ricocheting between soft, contemplative jazz and frenetic rock, SELL EVERYTHING gives fans a delicious form of whiplash with each new single, keeping them coming back for more in a perpetual state of wondering what’s to come. At the start of latest track, "Something New", bubbling synth serves as a backdrop for a spacey, plucked guitar and singer Tom Kelly’s own hazy, contemplative vocals.
He sings about overwhelming personal relationships as the soundscape expands into a jangly mix of driving drums and bass. Later, Kelly reveals he’s finding release in his creative process amidst a smattering of overlapping rhythms and grungy chords. As teeth-gritting notes spill out of the guitar, a hazy synth provides a solid foundation that keeps the track grounded as it sashays between a heavy noise-rock sound and a mist of hypnotic R&B.
Formed in 2023, this eclectic Dublin-based group is becoming known for their compelling cross-genre sound and energetic live shows. Each new song dips into influences across the realms of punk jazz, grunge, rock, and hip-hop. Led by Kelly, the group also features producer Jack Ussher on lead guitar, bassist Fionn Mac Lochlainn, and drummer Oisín Cavanagh.
Based on a diverse mix of influences from the slack-rock sound of King Krule to the experimental noise of Bar Italia, the group has a distinct DIY persona.
