Austrian singer/songwriter OSKA delivers the deliciously feel-good new single “Forever Blue” just in time for our summer playlists
The heartwarming nostalgic tune sees the artist longingly look back at a day she cherished with a close childhood friend. Like flicking through an old photo album, she recalls some of her fondest memories, as she reminisces on when they took a long car ride, blasting their favourite songs and re-injecting youth back into their lives.
OSKA shares, “It felt like being children again; playing, goofing around, snoozing off in the car; not a worry in the world. This song is about reflecting on tough situations and realizations, like childhood ending. It’s also about friendship and the beauty of having people in your life who can make you feel at peace by something as simple as listening to music together."
“Forever Blue” emits an innocence, as delicate, twinkling instrumentation and plucky guitars set the backdrop for OSKA’s gentle vocals and raw, emotional lyrics. The folky track glows with a radiance, making you want to jump in the car, put the windows down and sing along to her infectious lyrics, as she sings, “And for a while we’ll feel brand new / wind in your hair, you know the rules.”
With her last album, My World, My Love, Paris, dropping back in 2022, we can only hope that “Forever Blue” is teasing the beginning of a new album, as we’re already craving more from the magical world of OSKA.
