Montreal’s Bon Enfant share art-rock stomper “Trompe-l’oeil”
Quebecois band Bon Enfant have revealed the punchy glam-flecked “Trompe-l’oeil".
The five-piece – who are part of Montreal’s fertile alternative scene – have been around since 2019, winning multiple nominations at the ADISQ Gala (Quebec’s Grammys) and taking home the prize for Best Rock Record.
“It's better to accept and satisfy ourselves as we are while respecting our own limits and limitations - and we don't need anything more,” say the band - somewhat cryptically – of the song. "Trompe-l’oeil" builds on the band's sound, which mines 70s psych to 80s art rock, with a slight dash of Yé-yé melody.
