"HEAVEN IS A HARLEY" is a courageous effort from Tiger La Flor

Giving a fresh perspective on heartbreak as a means of empowerment, rising Japanese-Korean-American indie pop star Tiger La Flor returns with her latest single “HEAVEN IS A HARLEY”; urging listeners to use their break-up as a motive to enter a brand new era of badass-ery

“HEAVEN IS A HARLEY” captures the essences of letting self-absorption go and feeling the wind through your hair as you step out of the shadow of other people’s expectations. A track of somewhat minimal instrumentation or variation, “HEAVEN IS A HARLEY” opens with a stirring piano motif before the track quickly explodes into a grand, cinematic chorus. It’s near impossible not to be reminded of Lana Del Rey’s earliest tracks, a comparison Tiger La Flor holds her hands up to.

“Sonically, with this song, I wanted to capture the vibe of the early Lana records that made me fall in love with her project” she continues, “my favorite Lana song has always been 'Blue Jeans' so I wanted to capture that dark, moody western vibe while putting my own twist on it. Lyrically, I wanted to capture the feeling of freedom, which to me, is embodied by the image of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, hence the title 'HEAVEN IS A HARLEY'”

“Last year, I finally got the strength to leave a toxic relationship and move to Paris, which has been a lifelong dream of mine” Le Flor explains, “I’ve always wanted to travel through Europe alone, and I was inspired to capture that feeling in a song: the freedom that comes after you learn detachment and let go of something that’s holding you back”.

The track, produced by Travis Heidelman and co-written with Elsa Curran, follows the success of Tiger La Flor’s previous singles “MOST WANTED MAN”, “BREAK A HEART”, and last month’s Anthony Russo collaboration “All Night”. A quarter Japanese, a quarter Korean, and “half cowgirl,” in her own words, Tiger La Flor is bringing together a new style of melded country pop.

Growing up deep in the American West saw Le Flor develop a passion for ‘70s classics, which reminded her of the long summer drives her and her father used to take through Eastern Washington, listening to the likes of Neil Young, Johnny Cash and The Rolling Stones. “I hope when listeners hear “HEAVEN IS A HARLEY" it helps them find the strength to take that leap of faith to detach from what’s holding them back in their lives” Tiger La Flor adds, “and that they find the courage to chase their wildest dreams.”
