Eterna doubles down on his addictively off-kilter sound in new single “Missing Lluna”
Dropped just ahead of his upcoming album Debunker, Eterna’s latest song "Missing Lluna" is a homage to the elusive feelings of the heart.
After making waves in November with a distinctly ethereal setlist at Pitchfork Fest London, the Barcelona-born and South London-based Guillem Peters, also known as Eterna, has since been working in his studio on new music. First came the coarse slowcore project “Highbury Grunge”, a single awash with hazy instrumentals which also conceded with the announcement of his sophomore LP. That album, Debunker, is due out on January 31st via section1. For now, we have new single “Missing Lluna”.
Rife with driving drums, heavy bass, and Eterna’s signature distorted soundscape, this delightfully cold single is served with a hint of erraticism on the side. The off-kilter guitar line drifts in and out of focus, enticing listeners to listen in deep.
From longing to love, enrapturing emotions take hold of us all at some point in life. Never relenting, they remind us of a previous state of self we might never get back. To reflect that grey mist of feeling, Eterna contorts his soundscape until it takes on textures both hazy and dreamlike. It’s this very sound he crafts that continues to intrigue.
Accompanied by an introspective lyrical line, and a cold stop-motion video, “Missing Lluna” encourages fans to look inward as the single burns through a healthy variety of jangly instrumentals. The single is another in a long line of alluring and entirely self-made Eterna singles and EPs. Now all there’s left to do is listen and wait for his sophomore LP.
"Missing Lluna" is out now, ahead of his sophomore album Debunker set for release on 31 January 2025. Find Eterna on Instagram.
