The Los Angeles based singer/songwriter, musician, and composer eaJ has just dropped a new tune which is certain to be an anthem for the summer.
eaJ (or Jae Park) has made a name for himself as the former vocalist and guitarist of South Korean rock band Day6. Within the multi-hyphenate group, he is no stranger to seeing success atop the charts or widespread acclaim within industry circles. A few years now into his own solo venture, his latest release “right where you left me” provides evidence that he is on the right track to further smash hit domination.
Featuring Indonesian artist Hindia, eaJ's latest single is a colourful new release that exudes a feel-good vibe through kaleidoscopic melodies and clashing percussion. With catchy lyrics that will have the listener chanting along, subtle Indonesian ad-libs, and overall contagious energy, “right where you left me” serves as the ultimate pick me up.
Despite an upbeat and high-spirited sound, the song however tells a more sombre narrative. With a melancholy feel threaded throughout the lyrics, eaJ still maintains a sense of hopefulness, as he sings about the importance of patience and understanding. “It is written from the outlook of someone who is waiting for a loved one to come back from an emotional journey of self-discovery," eaJ explains.
"They understand that life isn't a movie and that things change from time to time. With a big heart of understanding and wanting to be of help for the person more so than one's self, they sacrifice their own emotional well being to further encourage the other to explore as much as possible, with the reassurance that they will be right where they left them, if they choose to return.” His wise words remind us all that sometimes we need to take a step back and allow others to continue on their own path, no matter how hard it can be.
