Deijuvhs bursts out the gates with "Moonlight Bop"
A rollicking, reeling two minutes of the sweet spot where rap and nu-metal crossfade, Deijuvhs unleashes "Moonlight Bop".
Coming with a Limp Bizkit co-sign and buck loads of energy, East London MC, rapper, and rocker Deijuvhs is raring to take the scene by storm. After winning Pirate Studio’s search for the UK’s best new MC, Deijuvhs has been putting in the graft, releasing a steady slew of singles and mixtapes and making a name for himself around the festival circuit. Now, "Moonlight Bop", is the breakout track - a melting pot of his influences and experiences, living outside society and partying until the break of daylight.
As the title suggests, "Moonlight Bop" is an incendiary anthem made to ricochet around a sweaty basement crowd of writhing fans, with punchy riffs and ferociously commands - “SLIDE! FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT!” - kicking off the vicious chorus. It’s all too easy to envisage thousands going wild to with its palpable energy.
What’s more, though, is the slick versatility Deijuvhs demonstrates - when he’s not firmly at home in the nu-metal stomping grounds, he’s delivering sleek, atmospheric bars above eerily light instrumentals - the serene, 'moonlight' half of the bop.
The potential ascends to a fever pitch before each drop, each dam-breaking outflow of guitar and bass, before quickly receding. It’s expertly done, and will surely go down a storm with the crowds Deijuvhs will be playing for while on tour with Limp Bizkit, as support for the nu-metal legends’ Gunnersbury Park show.
Deij calls the track: "the soundtrack to Woodstock 99. I made this song for the hood punks to rage to. It goes off at my shows."
