Bringing their UK tour to an overwhelmingly barnstorming close is the leviathan that is Mastodon. The packed out Islington Academy lapped it up, as the behemoths from Atlanta played the whole of new album Crack the Skye in its entirety, then (as if that wasn’t enough) came back out to perform older tracks. How they had the energy to blaze through the likes of ‘Bladecatcher’ and ‘The Wolf is Loose’ after playing the prog-inspired mend-bender of Crack the Skye is completely beyond comprehension, but blaze they did. If you weren’t there, our photos barely manage to catch the power of it all. Just don’t miss them next time!
