One Little Plane is Kathryn Bint. Until is her debut, produced by her good friend Kieren Hebden, who some of you may already know as Four Tet. You certainly can tell when you hear the drums on Nobody Out There..Kathryns songs are bare bones acoustic pop. Her voice is very similar to Psapps Galia Durant or Emiliana Torrini. It is dreamy heart warming folk. Simplicity is the key, and it really works on this record. Kathryns voice is subtle and sweet, and her melodies will hook you in. Take songs like 'Make of Me', and the title track; they have that subtle atmospheric that only a real talented songwriter can get.. These songs are so simple and effortless, yet overpowering. From twee folk ditties ('Summer Stream') to playful pop ('Sunshine Kid'), these are songs of heartbreak and love, and they fit that wonderful tradition that harkens back to Joni Mitchell. With Mr Hebden on production the dreamy quality of Kathryns songwriting has been brought to the forefront, like on 'Lotus Flower', or the subtle bass on 'The Snails are out Tonight', whilst also keeping it bare and intimate.Until could well be your dearest gem, the songs are beautifully honest and Kathryns voice has an innocence that you can't help but be charmed by. A great one for the summer time”¦ 75%Links One Little Plane [myspace]
