Gate of Klüna welcomes you to the world of Kuunatic
"Gate of Klüna"
This is their utopia, albeit one where it takes prayer to coax rain from the sapped sky, and volcanoes loom on the horizon constantly threatening to spew out their hot insides - but it’s where they feel comfortable. It's where they can tune into their wild spirits and imagination without external forces meddling, and where they use mystic ways to conjure up an unclassifiable, rough and raw tribal-psych sound that’s as heavy on the chanting as it is on the droning bass and thudding drums.
Step through the Gate of Klüna and you’ll witness how the imaginary planet Kuurandia “began, evolved and was explored”, say the band. Bells and dissonant flutes mark the dawn of a new era in trudging opener "Dewbow", while "Full Moon Spree" is a quirky soundtrack to a ball. The hypnotic "Tītián" is as close to comfortably dreamy as Kuunatic get, and "Lava Naksh" is ominous and foreboding.
Just like the science fiction works of Arthur C. Clarke - whom the band count as inspiration - Gate of Klüna is mysterious, boundary-pushing, and challenging - the product born from a group of creative minds that have a fierce commitment to their outlandish vision. The journey through Kuurandia on their debut will fill some with fascination, and others with an uneasiness - exactly as exploring a new world should.
