The 17-strong Icelandic rap collective Reykjavikurdaetur take centre stage at Reykjavik Art Museum for one of our standout shows of Iceland Airwaves.
Their latest release, “HÆPIД, is out now, and its video features, among other things, one of the band smacking Úlfur Úlfur’s Arnar with a pillow.
We talked to them as part of our Ten Icelandic Bands You Must See at Airwaves 2015, where they told us about the most useful Icelandic word for a foreigner to learn - Trúnó.
“This is used when you have had too many beers and are in that extra sensitive, almost crying mode. Then you can ask someone: “Hey, come with me on a Trúnó” which basically translates to a personal conversation while drunk. This word will come in handy during the festival.”
