Zayn covers Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" to mark late artist's 80th birthday
Zayn has released a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" to mark what would've been his 80th birthday this weekend.
To celebrate the late Jimi Hendrix's 80th birthday on Sunday (27 November), Zayn has released a cover of 1971 song "Angel", which appeared on his posthumous album The Cry of Love.
The cover marks Zayn's first release collaborating with Ingrid Michaelson on "To Begin Again" in March 2021.
A spokesperson for Experience Hendrix, LLC told Billboard, "We are pleased that Zayn has been inspired to use original music from Jimi Hendrix’s "Angel" in his recording of the song. We’re hopeful that this version of a Hendrix classic will enlighten a new generation of listeners about Jimi’s genius and further propel his continuing legacy."
Zayn's version of Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" is out now.
