Young Fathers, The Who, and The Chemical Brothers among lineup for Teenage Cancer Trust 2024
The line up for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall shows is revealed for 2024, and includes the likes of Young Fathers, The Who, and The Chemical Brothers.
The 2024 edition of Teenage Cancer Trust shows will be Roger Daltrey’s swan song - his last year as the curator and driving force. For 22 editions, Daltrey has persuaded some of the greatest artists on the planet to perform one night only gigs to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, generating over £32 million, and spreading word of the charity far and wide and transforming how teenagers and young people with cancer are treated.
His final curation will include three celebratory shows, including two special performances by The Who, 24 years after they re-formed to kick these shows off, and a night dedicated to Roger called ‘Ovation’; featuring some legendary friends including Robert Plant, Paul Weller, and Eddie Vedder.
“The £32 million raised from these concerts has been the foundation for the 28 specialised units within the NHS, as well as specialist nurses and youth workers to be there for a young person when cancer has turned their world upside down," says Daltrey.
Kate Collins, Chief Executive, Teenage Cancer Trust added: “Quite simply, we would not be the charity we are without Roger and these shows and – more importantly than that – thousands of young people with cancer in the UK would not have had the specialist support and care they urgently need.”
