Yo La Tengo respond to Tennessee's anti-drag bill by playing Nashville show in drag
Yo La Tengo played a show in Nashville yesterday (13 March), and to protest the recent anti-drag bill passed in Tennessee, they performed in drag.
Tennessee recently passed a bill that will restrict public drag performances from 1 April, and last night (13 March) Yo La Tengo responded to the recent decision, with the band's Ira Kaplan and James McNew playing the second half of their show at The Basement East in Nashville in drag.

Yo La Tengo didn't address the bill directly at the show, but their response comes ahead of a benefit concert in support of LGBTQIA+ organisations taking place later this week, which will feature Hayley Williams, Jason Isbell, Julien Baker and more.
