Wunderhorse return with new single, "Midas"
Wunderhorse have returned with new single, "Midas" as their first new music since their 2022 debut album, Cub.
"The song was written in a bathtub in Paris, and forgotten about until it resurfaced in Minnesota. Midas is the guy who makes you feel like a pencil stub, all used up and nothing to show for it, but it’s always just business as far as he’s concerned," says Jacob Slater.
"Midas" marks the band’s first new music since debut album Cub, which saw the four piece graduate from playing in basements and pubs to filling Glastonbury’s Woodsies tent and selling out Kentish Town’s O2 Forum months in advance.
Across the tour leading up to and following Cub’s release, Slater and his bandmates – guitarist Harry Fowler, drummer Jamie Staples and bassist Peter Woodin – also gradually and naturally became a fully-formed band, leaving the solo era of Wunderhorse behind.
"Midas" is out now via Communion Records.
