North London’s Wretch 32 has returned with the brand new single, “Black and British”, featuring Little Simz and Benjamin A.D..

Timed within Black History Month and at once deeply personal yet universal, the lyrics are introspective, speaking to both individual and collective experiences of marginalisation, heritage, and pride. Wretch's Grandmother Beverley Scott is sampled at the end of the track, taken from the milestone Scenes From The Farm Broadwater Farm estate documentary, first televised in 1988.

“Sometimes you're a fly on the wall in your own house or a ear to the wall for your neighbours, both views represent the black British experience," Wretch 32 says of the song. "‘ think Wretch summed it up perfectly," Benjamin A.D. adds. "The struggles vs the intention. The craziest thing is the song has been there for a while and now that it’s being released, it feels more relevant than ever".

"Black and British" is out now.
