Wings of Desire release new double-A single "Chance of a Lifetime" / "I Will Try My Best"
Gritty dream-pop duo Wings of Desire release new double-A single "Chance of a Lifetime" / "I Will Try My Best" ahead of their Life Is Infinite anthology.
Speaking of "Chance of a Lifetime", the band say: “We are yearning for something deeper, wanting to jump off the conveyor belt of life and prepare ourselves for the uncomfortable truth that we’ve never truly known what it is to live. We are not claiming to have the answer, but if we can inspire a conversation or spark the listeners imagination then we are one step closer to the realisation that there is much more to living than we can consider tangible.”
“We can only ever give our best at life. We all have our own individual karma and dharma to deal with, each and everyone of us so incredibly unique," they offer on "I Will Try My Best".
"Our predicaments and circumstance entirely different to the next. So when you go through with your day to day life try to stay conscious of others (easier said than done I know). We all have our moments in the sun but understand that all of us go through times of suffering. So treat others like you would treat yourself as everyone is just you experiencing a different parallel life, journeying through the space-time continuum.”
The forthcoming project is born out of questions that may never be answered. James Taylor and Chloe Little draw inspiration from the seminal music of early noughties NYC, Factory Records and Krautrock as well as the philosophies of 20th century thinkers and futurists such as Alan Watts, Noam Chomsky and Wim Wenders.
In a sonic sense, they zero in on a particular lived experience as a key catalyst: “We were inspired by a trip to Berlin where we visited the legendary Hansa studios, and got drunk at Neues Ufe".
"Chance of a Lifetime" / "I Will Try My Best" follow on from previous double-A single, "Made Of Love" / "Be Here Now", and "A Gun In Every Home", and "001 [Tame The War, Feed The Fire]".
Life Is Infinite arrives on 8 December via WMD Recordings.
