Wilco to sell guitars, pump organ and other recording gear from Chicago studio the Loft
Wilco are launching their own Reverb shop next week, which will feature multiple guitars, a pump organ over 100 years old, and other gear from their Chicago studio the Loft.
Wilco will be selling some of their instruments and recording gear to make room for more new additions at their Chicago studio the Loft, and among the items are a 100-year-old pump organ, a 1963 Gibson Everly Bros acoustic guitar, a Martin 0-18K built in 1933, a rare Standel Custom Electric Guitar from the mid-60s, a couple of Avalon AD2022 rack preamps used by Jeff Tweedy, and Nels Cline’s Carr Impala combo amplifier.
the Loft’s studio manager Mark Greenberg said of the pump organ, "[It’s] been a staple of the space for years and made its way on a few recordings. Though we love it, it takes up a pretty large footprint, and in the name of freeing up space, we are ready to let this go. If you love something, set it free, right?"
Spring cleaning comes early to the @theloftchicago!
