White Lung share new track "If You're Gone"
White Lung have shared new track "If You're Gone" as the third taster of their forthcoming final album Premonition.
After announcing their fifth and final album with the lead outings "Date Night" and "Tomorrow" in September, White Lung have unveiled a third track from the record titled "If You're Gone".
Lead vocalist Mish Barber-Way says of the song, "Suicide was in the zeitgeist in many ways when I wrote this song. At the time, a few prominent public figures had killed themselves and they all had children. I was thinking about postpartum depression and how real it can hit. The song is about the emotions of children when their parent is now gone and how they deal with that loss. It also looks at the struggle parents face when life gets so bad one doesn’t see another way but to end it."
Premonition will follow White Lung's 2016 album Paradise. The band did begin work on their fifth album in Vancouver back in 2017, but Barber-Way became pregnant with her first child, and then a pandemic and a second child followed.
"If You're Gone" is out now. White Lung's Premonition album will be released on 2 December via Domino, and is available to pre-order now.
