Whenyoung preview new album with fifth single "Rubik's Cube"
Whenyoung have shared a fifth preview of their upcoming second album Paragon Songs titled "Rubik's Cube".
"Rubik's Cube" follows the duo's January single "Shame Train", and will appear on their Paragon Songs album with earlier outings "Unchained", "The Laundress" and "A Little Piece Of Heaven".
The duo's Aoife Power says, "Ruminating is similar to the mechanics of a Rubik’s cube in the sense that the mind can brood over one problem until it’s solved but there always seems to be another unsolved part on the other side, waiting. We composed this song by treating each section as a different side of the cube and each instrument as a square within that side, eventually coming to a resolution at the end. A bed of piano, synth and kick are carried along by interspersed guitar parts and soaring pop melodies."
Paragon Songs will follow their 2019 debut Reasons To Dream, and was written between a cottage in County Clare on the West coast of Ireland, and in a flat located on a street called Paragon on the East coast of England.
"Rubik's Cube" is out now. Whenyoung's Paragon Songs album will arrive on 7 April, and is available to pre-order now. They'll play London's Omeara on 17 April. Tickets are on sale now.
