Wet Leg play surprise set at End of the Road Festival, paying tribute to their origin story
Playing an unannounced slot ahead of Future Islands at this year’s End of the Road this evening, Wet Leg returned to where it all began.
It was at the 2018 edition of the Dorset-based event where Rhian Teasdale and bandmate Hester Chambers plotted their future together in music, after playing together in Teasdale's solo project RHAIN.
As they took to the stage, Teasdale joked, "Hello we're Oasis, thank you so much for coming to our secret set." Earlier, the band had teased their performance with a series of stickers across the festival site reading: “Pissed urself? Join the movement” and on-site rumours had linked Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, The Walkmen, Fat White Family and even Boygenius to the mid-evening main-stage slot.

"This is why we started a band – to be able to play this festival" they said during their set. "[but] we got a bit more than we bargained for."
Wet Leg's set drew the biggest crowd of the weekend, emptying out nearby stages. The festival continues tonight with sets from Future Islands and Overmono.
