Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City film starring Maya Hawke, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson and more gets summer 2023 release date
Wes Anderson's forthcoming film Asteroid City, which stars Maya Hawke, Tilda Swinto, Scarlett Johansson and many others, has received a summer 2023 release date.
Asteroid City will follow Anderson's 2020 film The French Dispatch, and is set in a mid-1950s American desert town during a "Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention", which gets "spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events."
The film has a star-studded line-up including Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie and many more, and it's now been revealed (via Deadline) that Focus Features will give the film an initial release on 16 June 2023, before it gets a wider release on 23 June.
Asteroid City will be Hawke's first role since playing Robin Buckley in Stranger Things. She's also due to voice a character in the upcoming animated series Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur that will air in February 2023.
