Watch Sky Ferreira in first trailer for Netflix's forthcoming crime thriller, Reptile
Sky Ferreira is set to star in the forthcoming Netflix crime thriller, Reptile, which was co-written by Grant Singer, Benjamin Brewer and Benicio Del Toro.
Reptile is the debut feature film from Grant Singer. The music video and commercial director is mostly known for working with artists such as Ferreira, The Weeknd, Lorde, Sam Smith, Ariel Pink and Skrillex. He has directed six of Ferreira's music videos including “Everything Is Embarrassing” and “I Blame Myself".
The crime thriller comes with a cast that includes the likes of Alicia Silverstone, Michael Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Eric Bogosian, and co-writer Benicio Del Toro. Ferreira has previously acted in films such as The Green Inferno, Baby Driver, and Lords Of Chaos.
Discussing his debut film, Singer says: “I think the movie will be exciting to people who like to watch something where you don't know where it's leading you, where a film is going to have twists and turns and deceive you. People who like things that are intense and visceral and suspenseful, I think they'll find something exciting in this. I didn't want to make something that felt cold and clinical and sterile. I wanted to make something that felt alive and warm and relatable and human."
Sky Ferreira recently was featured on a billboard in Times Square, which was set up by her fans, and read, "FREE SKY FERREIRA". The billboard was noticed by Sky Ferreira herself, who appeared to confirm that she is in fact being held hostage by her label.
Reptile will be released via Netflix on 6 October.
