Watch Laufey cover the jazz standard "But Not For Me" live in session for Best Fit
LA-based Icelandic-Chinese artist Laufey covers George and Ira Gershwin's jazz standard "But Not For Me" live in session exclusively for The Line of Best Fit in partnership with Crouch End Studios.
""But Not For Me” is composed by one of my favourite composers, Gershwin, and has been performed by some of my favourite artists of all time," Laufey tells Best Fit. "We live in an age where perfection is at the forefront - perfect people, perfect couples, perfect lives. Even so many years after it was written, the song speaks to something we can all relate to - a fear of never having love."
Laufey's cover of "But Not For Me" follows the release of "Promise", the second single to be lifted from Laufey's upcoming album Bewitched. The artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist's new album will follow her 2022 debut full-length, Everything I Know About Love, and will also include May's lead outing "From The Start". She'll celebrate the release of Bewitched - out on 8 September via AWAL Recordings - this autumn with a sold out North American tour. Visit laufeymusic.com for more information.
