Watch Dana Gavanski cover Judee Sill live in session for Best Fit
London-via-Canada singer-songwriter Dana Gavanski performs a cover of Judee Sill's "Lopin' Along Through the Cosmos" live in session exclusively for Best Fit in collaboration with Crouch End Studios.
"I’ve been a huge fan of Judee Sill for a long time now and think she’s insanely talented," Gavanski tells Best Fit of the cover choice. "She writes songs from a beautifully sincere and spiritual place that never cease to touch me, ranging from so so sad to uplifting, you really feel her presence in the songs. And then her chordal structures and progressions are amazing and so satisfying to listen to. I want to cover all her songs, but I chose this song, "Lopin' Along Through the Cosmos", for its majestic bumbling innocence and prayer-like quality that I feel very connected to these days."
Gavanski's Sill cover arrives ahead of her third album LATE SLAP, which lands on 5 April via Full Time Hobby and was recorded alongside Tunng and LUMP's Mike Lindsay at MESS, the producer’s Margate studio. So far she's released three singles from the album: "Ears Were Growing", "Let Them Row" and "How To Feel Uncomfortable". She'll play some in-stores supporting the release of LATE SLAP next month in Brighton, Leeds and Glasgow. Visit danagavanski.co.uk for more information.
