Watch Beyoncé's full speech endorsing Kamala Harris
On Friday evening, Beyoncé made an appearance at Kamala Harris' presidential rally in her hometown, Houston.
Accompanied on stage with her Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, who is also a Houston native, Beyoncé gave a speech sharing her thoughts on why she would be voting for Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.
“I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician, I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided,” she said. “Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations. We must vote, and we need you.”
Back in August, Beyoncé threatened Donald Trump with cease-and-desist over use of "Freedom" in his own presidential campaign. Trump's spokesperson Steven Cheung Beyoncé’s Lemonade track “Freedom” as the soundtrack. Rolling Stone reported that Beyoncé did not give permission for this, and is threatening a cease-and-desist. "Freedom" had previously been cleared for use as part of Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.
