Walt Disco unveil cover of Stephanie Mills' "Never Knew Love Like This Before"
Walt Disco have shared their cover of Stephanie Mills' "Never Knew Love Like This Before" as the second preview of their Always Sickening covers EP.
After announcing Always Sickening with a cover of Dusty Springfield's "You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me" last month, Walt Disco have delivered a second outing from the EP, which is a cover of Stephanie Mills' 1980 single "Never Knew Love Like This Before".
Lead vocalist Jocelyn Potter says of the new cover, "I think this might be my favourite cover from our wee EP, singing it was a delight and I think you can hear how much fun I was having. We had so much fun studying and taking apart the music, it was absolutely fascinating and we were really in awe of its mastery. Turning the improvised vocal runs into a choral part at the end felt amazing and I love listening to what we ended up with. It’s a honour to sing one of the greatest love songs ever written, that perfectly sums up the all consuming nature of loving someone with every inch of your being."
Always Sickening will also feature covers of songs by Aldous Harding, The Japanese House and The Associates.
Walt Disco's version of "Never Knew Love Like This Before" is out now. Their Always Sickening EP will arrive on 25 November via Lucky Number.
